The Ramos Law and Mediation Firm

After spending 25 years litigating complex medical malpractice and other tort defense cases, Dion Ramos was elected judge of the 55th Civil District Court of Harris County. Upon returning to private practice, Judge Ramos restarted the civil trial practice he founded in 2003 focusing on mediation, complex civil litigation and arbitration. In his 25 years before taking the bench, Ramos tried over 100 civil cases, taking verdicts as a first chair trial lawyer in over 60. He now brings his litigation and judicial experience to the firm to mediate, arbitrate and litigate complex civil cases.
Dion Ramos has experience in the following areas:
  • Admiralty and Maritime
  • Shareholder and Partnership Disputes
  • Breach of Contract
  • Personal Injury
  • Commercial Litigation
  • Professional Liability
  • Administrative Law
  • Construction Law
  • First Party Insurance
  • Trade Secrets

Dion Ramos believes the American civil jury trial is a fundamental civil right and works diligently to preserve this right and access to our civil courts. Mediation is an adjunct to – not a replacement for – the jury trial. The only rational way to reach a settlement is based on a reasonable assumption of what a jury would do with your case at trial. Arbitration - while outside the judicial system - requires advocacy skills of the parties' attorneys and the decision making skills of a judge by the arbitrator.
